Privacy Policy
The Crown's Collection
Effective date: August 24, 2026
Last updated: August 24, 2026
1. Who we are and what this policy covers
The Crown's Collection is operated by The Crown’s Collection, LLC, a Louisiana limited liability company. The Crown's Collection ("The Crown's Collection," "we," "us," or "our") is an independent private-client dealer in luxury timepieces, operating from Dallas, Texas and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We buy, sell, source, trade, and broker watches and, from time to time, other collectible assets.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and what choices and rights you have. It applies to:
thecrownscollection.com and any other website, landing page, or subdomain we operate;
our inquiry, sourcing, and sell-or-trade forms;
email, text message, and telephone communication with us;
in-person viewings, hand-deliveries, and transactions; and
our listings and messaging on third-party marketplaces we use, to the extent we receive your information from them.
It does not cover the independent privacy practices of third parties—including eBay, Chrono24, Instagram, payment providers, shipping carriers, or any other platform. Their handling of your data is governed by their own policies.
If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our site or submit information to us.
2. Short version
We collect what we need to identify you, evaluate or source a watch, complete a transaction, ship it safely, get paid, and comply with tax and anti-money-laundering law. High-value watch transactions carry real fraud and theft risk, so we verify identity and keep detailed transaction records. We do not sell your personal information for money. We do use analytics and, where enabled, advertising technology that some state laws treat as "sharing"—and you can opt out of that at any time by emailing us. You can also ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and stop text and email marketing at any point.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Information you give us directly
Contact and inquiry information. First name, last name, telephone number, email address, and the content of any message you send us through our Contact form, by email, by text, by phone, or through social media.
Sourcing request information. When you submit a "Source A Watch" request: watch brand, model or reference number, desired condition, budget limit, whether you hold assets you may wish to trade (including luxury vehicles, fine art, or other watches), and any additional detail you provide.
Sell or trade information. When you submit a "Sell or Trade" request: watch brand, model or reference number, approximate year of purchase, condition, whether you hold the original box and papers, service history, asking price, trade-up interest, and photographs you upload. Photographs of a watch frequently contain the serial number, case-back engraving, warranty card, or purchase receipt. Warranty cards and receipts often carry the original purchaser's name, the authorized dealer, and the purchase date. We treat all of this as personal information about you.
Transaction and identity verification information. To complete a purchase, sale, trade, or consignment we may collect: your full legal name, billing and shipping address, date of birth, a copy or image of a government-issued photo identification (driver's license, state ID, or passport), the last four digits of a payment card, bank or wire instructions, Zelle handle, tax identification information where a tax form is required, and records of amounts and payment methods.
Newsletter and marketing preferences. Whether you checked "Sign up for news and updates," and your subsequent engagement with our emails and texts.
Appointment and viewing information. Scheduling details, meeting location, and any access or delivery instructions you provide for a private viewing or hand-delivery.
3.2 Information collected automatically
When you visit our site, we and our service providers collect technical and usage information, including:
IP address and approximate location derived from it (typically city or region level);
browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen size, and language;
referring URL and the search terms or link that brought you here;
pages viewed, listings viewed, time on page, scroll depth, and click paths;
date and time of visit and session duration;
cookie and device identifiers; and
for emails and texts we send, whether the message was opened or delivered and which links you clicked.
3.3 Information from third parties
Payment processors and financial institutions—confirmation of payment, chargeback or dispute notices, and fraud signals.
Shipping carriers and insurers—delivery status, signature confirmation, and claim information.
Authentication, servicing, and appraisal partners—findings relating to a watch you are selling to us or buying from us.
Marketplaces and social platforms—your name, handle, and message content when you contact us through eBay, Instagram, or a similar channel.
Identity verification, sanctions screening, and fraud prevention vendors—results of checks we run in connection with high-value transactions.
Advertising and analytics platforms—aggregate campaign performance and, where enabled, matched-audience information.
Publicly available sources—for due diligence on high-value or unusual transactions.
3.4 Sensitive information
Some of what we collect is treated as sensitive under Texas, California, and other state privacy laws—in particular government-issued identification numbers and financial account information. We collect it only where we need it to complete a transaction, verify identity, prevent fraud, or satisfy a legal obligation. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell it.
We do not intentionally collect information about your race, ethnicity, religion, health, sexual orientation, immigration status, union membership, precise geolocation, or biometric identifiers, and we ask that you not send us any.
4. Why we use your information
We use personal information to:
Respond to you—answer inquiries, provide pricing, and arrange viewings or calls.
Evaluate a watch—assess condition, authenticity, market value, and provenance for a purchase, trade, or consignment.
Source a watch—approach private collectors, dealers, estate sales, auction houses, and international contacts on your behalf. We share only what is needed to conduct the search, and we do not disclose your identity to a counterparty without your agreement unless the transaction requires it.
Complete transactions—process payment, prepare invoices and bills of sale, arrange insured shipping or hand-delivery, and handle returns and authenticity claims.
Verify identity and prevent fraud, theft, and money laundering—confirm you are who you say you are, screen for stolen or counterfeit merchandise, check watch serial numbers against loss and theft databases, and screen against sanctions and watch lists where applicable.
Meet legal and tax obligations—including federal cash-transaction reporting, sales and use tax, information returns, insurance requirements, and lawful requests from government authorities.
Operate and improve the site—measure traffic and listing performance, diagnose problems, and improve the browsing experience.
Market to you—send newsletters, new-inventory alerts, and offers where you have opted in, and measure how those campaigns perform.
Protect our rights and our clients—enforce our terms, resolve disputes, pursue recovery of stolen property, and defend legal claims.
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, our legal bases are: contract (items 1–4), legal obligation (items 5–6), legitimate interests in operating a secure and viable dealership (items 5, 7, 9), and consent (item 8, and non-essential cookies). You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing already carried out.
5. Cookies and tracking technologies
Our site uses cookies, pixels, tags, local storage, and similar technologies. These fall into four groups.
Strictly necessary. Set by Squarespace, our website platform, to keep the site working—session management, security, form submission integrity, and load balancing. These cannot be switched off through our site.
Analytics and performance. Squarespace's built-in analytics, and where enabled Google Analytics 4, record how visitors find and move through the site. Squarespace sets first-party cookies (including identifiers such as ss_cid, ss_cvisit, ss_cvr, and ss_cvt) to distinguish visitors and sessions.
Advertising and retargeting. Where enabled, we use advertising technology from providers such as Google Ads and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) to measure campaign performance and show you our listings on other sites and apps. These technologies may set third-party cookies and transmit identifiers, including a hashed version of your email address, to the platform. Several state privacy laws treat this transfer as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information even though no money changes hands. See Section 8 and Section 10 for how to opt out.
Functional. Remember preferences such as currency, sort order, and whether you have dismissed a notice.
Your controls. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings; blocking strictly necessary cookies will break parts of the site. You can opt out of Google Analytics at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and you can manage interest-based advertising at https://optout.aboutads.info and https://www.youronlinechoices.eu/.
Global Privacy Control. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising in that browser. Because the signal is browser-specific, it will not apply across your other devices, and it does not identify you well enough for us to apply it to information you have already given us by email or phone—email us to apply an opt-out to those records.
6. Text messages and phone calls
Our forms require a phone number so we can respond quickly, which is often the fastest way to move on a piece that is in demand. Providing your number lets us contact you about your specific inquiry or transaction.
We will only send you marketing text messages—new inventory alerts, offers, and promotions—if you have separately agreed to receive them. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to any marketing text to stop receiving them and HELP for assistance. Opting out of marketing texts does not stop transactional messages about a deal in progress.
We may record or keep notes of calls where you consent or where recording is otherwise permitted by law. If we are recording a call, we will tell you at the start.
We do not sell or share your phone number with third parties for their own marketing.
7. Who we share information with

to comply with a subpoena, court order, warrant, tax obligation, or other legal requirement;
to report a suspected stolen watch, counterfeit item, or fraudulent transaction;
to protect the rights, property, or safety of The Crown's Collection, our clients, or the public; or
in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business, in which case we will require the recipient to honor this policy or give you notice and a choice.
Confidentiality of collectors. We treat the identity of buyers, sellers, and consignors as confidential. We do not publish, trade, or disclose client lists, and we do not confirm to third parties that you own or have sold a particular piece unless you ask us to, we are required by law, or it is necessary to complete a transaction you have authorized.
8. Sale and sharing of personal information
For the twelve months preceding the effective date of this policy, we have not sold personal information for monetary consideration.
To the extent we operate advertising pixels or matched-audience tools, we may share identifiers, internet activity, and hashed contact information with advertising platforms for cross-context behavioral advertising. Under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, the California Consumer Privacy Act, and similar laws, that may qualify as a "sale" or "sharing."
We have never sold or shared sensitive personal information, and we have never knowingly sold or shared the personal information of anyone under 18.
To opt out, email info@thecrownscollection.com with the subject line "Opt Out of Sale/Sharing," or send a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser.

Where a longer period is required by law, or where information is needed for an active dispute, insurance claim, theft investigation, or legal defense, we keep it until that matter is resolved. When a retention period ends, we delete the information or de-identify it so it can no longer be linked to you.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights.
Know and access—confirm whether we process your personal information and obtain a copy.
Correct—have inaccurate information fixed.
Delete—have your information erased, subject to the exceptions below.
Portability—receive your information in a portable, machine-readable format.
Opt out—of targeted advertising, of sale or sharing, and of profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. We do not engage in that kind of profiling.
Limit use of sensitive information—restrict our use of sensitive information to what is necessary to provide our services.
Withdraw consent—for anything we do on the basis of your consent.
Non-discrimination—we will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or give you a lesser experience because you exercised a privacy right.
Texas residents. The Texas Data Privacy and Security Act gives Texas residents the rights above. If we deny your request, you may appeal by emailing info@thecrownscollection.com with the subject line "Privacy Appeal." We will respond to an appeal within 60 days. If the appeal is denied, you may submit a complaint to the Texas Attorney General at https://www.texasattorneygeneral.gov/.
California residents. To the extent the CCPA/CPRA applies to us, you have the rights above and may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf; we may ask the agent for proof of authorization and ask you to verify your identity directly.
Residents of other states with comprehensive privacy laws—including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Oregon, Montana, and others—have substantially similar rights, and we extend them to all U.S. residents as a matter of practice.
EEA, UK, and Swiss residents. You additionally have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests, the right to restrict processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
How to make a request. Email info@thecrownscollection.com with the subject line "Privacy Request" and tell us which right you want to exercise. We will respond within 45 days and may extend once by another 45 days if the request is complex, in which case we will tell you why.
Verification. Because our records contain identity documents and high-value transaction history, we verify requests before acting on them. We may ask you to confirm details only the account holder would know, or to confirm from the email address or phone number on file. We will not create new records about you solely to verify a request.
Limits on deletion. We may decline to delete information we are required to keep for tax, anti-money-laundering, warranty, insurance, or legal-defense purposes, or that we need to detect and prevent fraud. If we decline in part, we will tell you which part and why, and delete the rest.
11. Security
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including:
HTTPS/TLS encryption for the website and form submissions;
access controls limiting identity documents and payment details to the people who need them;
secure storage and prompt disposal of identity documents once verification is complete and the retention period has run;
fully insured, signature-required overnight shipping, with tracking withheld from public channels;
serial-number recording and cross-checking against loss and theft databases; and
vetting of service providers who handle personal information on our behalf.
A caution about what you send us. Email and text are not secure channels. Please do not send full payment card numbers, full bank account and routing numbers, or images of your identification by unencrypted email or text. Ask us for a secure method and we will provide one.
No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
12. Children
Our site and services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and we do not transact with minors. If you believe a minor has given us information, email info@thecrownscollection.com and we will delete it.
13. Third-party links and platforms
Our site links to and our listings appear on third-party services including eBay, Chrono24, Instagram, and payment providers. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information there.
14. International visitors
We operate in the United States and store information here. If you contact us from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States, which may not offer the same level of data protection as your home jurisdiction. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or your explicit consent for such transfers. By contacting us from abroad, you understand your information will be handled as described in this policy.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our business, our technology, or the law changes. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version. If we make a material change—for example, beginning to share personal information for targeted advertising when we previously did not—we will post a notice on the site and, where required, contact you directly. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
